Apple, FireEye, Illumina and more - AFTER-HOURS

Proactive had its eye on the movers and shakers last night after the bell

Tech behemoth Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) didn't disappoint in its third quarter earnings, and shares rose 6% in after- hours trade to reach a new record high.

EPS (earnings per share) was $1.67 for the three months on revenue of $45.41bn, which were both better than the consensus of $1.57 per share and revenue of $44.89bn.

Contrary to some previous expectations, the group also topped iPhone and iPad shipping projections

Chief executive Tim Cook conceded that some customers may have paused their purchases of existing Apple phones in light of the soon to launch new iPhone and said "while that affects us in the short-term, it probably bodes well".

Elsewhere, after the bell, FireEye Inc (NASDAQ:FEYE) shares added 7.01% to $15.72 and the cyber-security specialist unveiled a second-quarter revenue of $185.5mln, which beat analysts' estimates of $176.4mln.

Conversely, on the losing front, Herbalife shares (NYSE:HLF) shares dropped almost 4% in New York to $64 after the supplement group reported mixed second quarter numbers and adjusted its full-year outlook.
