Marmota (ASX:MEU) has received high-grade gold intersections from the June/July drilling program at the Goshawk Prospect, part of the Aurora Tank Gold Project in South Australia.
The drilling returned significant results, including 4 metres at 40 g/t gold from 32 metres, as well as multiple other intersections of around 4 metres at 10 g/t gold.
The intersections, all close to the surface, show breakthrough evidence of frequent high-grade intersections, geological continuity of mineralisation, and open on several cross sections.
It is worth noting that the Aurora Tank project is situated 50 kilometres northeast of the Challenger gold mine, which has produced over one million ounces of gold.
Marmota is searching for Challenger-style gold systems in its tenements covering more than 5,000 square kilometres of prospective area in the Gawler Craton.
The new assay results are based on 4 metres composites. Further drilling will be required to determine if these high-grade intersections also point to a significant deposit at depth.
Marmota will now carry out analysis of 1 metre drill samples over interesting intersections.
