Ongoing resource expansion drilling at the Kun-Manie nickel sulphide project owned by Amur Minerals Corporation (LON:AMC) now totals over 13,000 metres, with 6,006 metres completed at the Ikenskoe/Sobolevsky deposit and a further 7,136 meters completed at Kubuk.
Approximately 65% of the planned 2017 drilling programme has been completed.
Most significantly, the easternmost hole has hit the largest and continuous thickness of mineralisation ever drilled at Kun-Manie, of 76.4 metres averaging 0.93% nickel and 0.20% copper.
Using a cutoff grade of 0.4% nickel and a minimum thickness of three metres, it’s apparent that two large continuous blocks of mineralisation have been identified along the drilled portion of the Ikenskoe target.
The first block is approximately 500 metres in strike length with a width of up to 400 metres. The second block has an approximate length of 700 metres and has been drilled by a single row of holes.
The average grades of the newly defined blocks of mineralisation are substantially higher than the average grades of the Ikenskoe/Sobolevsky resource estimate, where the nickel grade is estimated to be 0.69% nickel and 0.17% copper.
"Resource expansion drilling at Ikenskoe/Sobolevsky has reaped substantial benefits since mid-May of this year,” said Amur chief executive Robin Young.
“We have already discovered two new mineralised blocks along the 2,800 metre long target between Ikenskoe/Sobolevsky and Kubuk. 'The most recently defined block is located towards the middle of the 2017 drill season target and contains the thickest continuous mineralisation intercepted to date at Kun-Manie.
