Boeing , Ford and Facebook in focus - PRE-MARKET

Aircraft maker Boeing (NYSE:BA) shares are up almost 3% in pre-market deals after it reported profit for the latest quarter which flew past expectations. Shares have boomed nearly 58% higher over the past 12 months.

Shares have boomed nearly 58% higher over the past 12 months.

For the latest three months, the group earned US$1.76bn, or US$2.89 a share, up from last year's loss of US$234mln, or 37 US cents a share.

Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) is also up 8.36% in pre-market at $15.29 and was up after-hours as its results were better than expected.

AMD reported second quarter revenue of US$1.22bn, up 19% annually, and adjusted earnings per share of US$0.02, beating consensus estimates of US$1.16bn and US$0.00.

Facebook (NASDAQ:FB), the social network behemoth, is up 0.41% in pre-market to US$165.28 a share in pre-market as the market awaits its earnings statement after the bell.

Consensus says Facebook will report revenue of US$9.17bn, up 43% from the same quarter in 2016, while adjusted earnings are expected to be US$1.12 a share, up 44%.

Facebook shares are around 40% up in the year so far.

Finally car giant Ford (NYSE:F.) shares are down 1.77% in pre-market, as it reported quarterly profit of 56 US cents per share, 13 US cents a share above consensus of 43 US cents. Revenue was in line with estimates at US$39.9bn.
