One would expect that the diary would be light on the third Friday of July, and to some extent it is, though, Vodafone PLC (LON:VOD) and Acacia Mining PLC (LON:ACA) have something to say on that day.
Vodafone’s European operations are expected, by analysts at Barclays, to be relatively positive - with German momentum ‘remaining steady’ and in Italy the business ‘remains solidly positive’ - but in the UK it will be less straightforward.
“UK growth will likely be impacted by the handset leasing change (handset-related service revenues recognised in hardware revenues rather than service revenues), and we expect enterprise to also remain challenging,” Barclays analyst Maurice Patrick said.
He added: “We see growth deteriorating to 5.1%. Spain should remain broadly stable, with solid commercial momentum offset by promotional activity.”
The Barclays analyst also noted that he wanted to hear an update regarding the impact of the new rules for EU roaming, as well as the industrial logic behind recent price moves in Spain/Italy.
