DP Poland momentum showing no signs of stopping as first half sales jump

DP Poland has now racked up 19 consecutive quarters of double digit sales growth

The momentum built in recent years by pizza delivery outfit DP Poland PLC (LON:DPP) is showing no signs of stopping, with first half sales jumping once again.

Total system sales, which includes the 10 new stores opened so far this year, increased by 50% year-on-year to PLN27.5mln (H1 2016: PLN18mln) for the six months to 30 June.

After the solid first half outing, DP Poland has now racked up 19 consecutive quarters of double digit sales growth.

It’s not just the new stores that are contributing to that growth either; like-for-like sales rose by 17% compared to the same period last year.

Popularity of online ordering still growing

“We continued to see strong growth in system sales in the first half of 2017, thanks to robust double digit like-for-likes and ten store openings, year to date. Eight additional towns and cities have been added to the Domino's map in Poland so far this year,” said chief executive Peter Shaw.

“Our rate of growth in online sales continues with 73% of all delivery orders made online in the first half of 2017, compared to 71% for the full year 2016, a trend that brings us in line with many of the more mature Domino's markets.”

New commissary close to completion

There was also an update on the new commissary being built in Łódź, which the AIM-quoted firm expects to come on stream in September.

The new facility, along with the existing commissary in Warsaw, will give DPP the capacity to supply up to 150 stores with fresh dough and ingredients, Shaw added.

The full set of interim results will be published on 18 September.
