Tech stocks were among the gainers, with Western Digital Corp (NASDAQ:WDC) up 2.8% to $91.77, but others fared less well. Snap Inc (NYSE:SNAP) fell almost 6% to $16 - well below the March IPO price of $17.
Broker Morgan Stanley today downgraded the owner of Snapchat, a day after its shares fell below their market debut price.
The broker cut its rating to ‘equal weight’ from ‘overweight’ and lowered the price target to US$16 from US$28 in a note to investors today.

Snap’s shares closed at US$16.99 yesterday, below its IPO price of US$17.
