Michelmersh's brick to be used in redevelopment of iconic Battersea Power Station

Michelmersh's bespoke Blockleys product was meticulously chosen to complement the existing contextual built environment of Battersea

Battersea Power Station is one of London’s most iconic buildings, and when it is redeveloped it will feature bricks supplied by Michelmersh Brick Holdings Plc (LON:MBH).

Michelmersh, in conjunction with its distribution partner EHSmith, will supply 440,000 purpose-made, wire-cut bricks from its Blockleys plant in Telford, Shropshire.

The bespoke Blockleys product was meticulously chosen to complement the existing contextual built environment of Battersea, matching the conservational standards of the original existing facades, Michelmersh said.

Being chosen to deliver this order is testament to Michelmersh's ability to create a product that meets very particular requirements and match the existing, iconic Battersea Power Station brickwork, it added.

Shares in Michelmersh are up 48% year-to-date though were off 3p at 73p in mid-morning trade.
