Amur Minerals PLC (LON:AMC) is to explore the gaps between two of its targets on the Kun-Manie licence in Far East Russia to see if they are one huge deposit.
The two targets, Kubuk and Ikenskoe/Sobolevsky, are being drilled currently to upgrade their existing resource from ‘inferred’ to the more certain ‘indicated’ category, to add more resources and to test the depth of the mineralisation.
So far, six step-out holes at Kubuk have added 300 metres of mineralised length in excess of 0.4% nickel and at a minimum thickness of 3m.
Additional ore has also been identified at both the eastern limit and at the western limit of the existing resource.
This western limit target is also within the 2,500m undrilled gap between the two deposits.
Robin Young, chief executive, said this drill testing of this 2,500 metres target would be similar in approach to the success at Maly Kurumkon/Flangovy, two other targets at Kun-Manie that eventually became one.
“Our drilling along this target could ultimately result in the linking up of the two deposits, creating a single deposit up to five kilometres in length and thus, making it the longest single deposit at Kun-Manie. Successful drilling could well result in a substantial increase in both the resource and reserve.”
“Both drill rigs are now drilling some of the deepest holes on site as we follow newly defined mineralisation outward in incremental steps."
