MySQUAR Limited (LON:MYSQ) has announced the launch of Mingalarbar Morning a new news aggregation app for its customers in Myanmar.
The app is designed to address a lack of comprehensive local language news. The AIM-quoted company said that Mingalarbar Morning is one of the first aggregators to deliver both ‘hard’ (politics, business and international) news sources as well as soft’ items (such as arts, entertainment and sports).
Mingalarbar Morning will be monetised via third party advertising in due course, the company said.
"The news sector in Myanmar is in its infancy with high growth potential and as such we are excited to be one of the first mobile-friendly news aggregators in the market.
“The news site allows the company to diversify and broaden its user base, adding not only an additional sales channel whereby the company can cross-sell its apps and games, but also an additional monetisation opportunity,” said Eric Schaer, MySQUAR chief executive.
“In addition, the company sees further opportunities to integrate some of the existing products with www.mingalarbarmorning.com such as including news in MyChat or expanding Fastsell into a classifieds section of the site."
