Rose Petroleum expects green-light for Utah seismic programme in ‘coming weeks’

“The acceptance of the revised EA by the BLM and the commencement of the public consultation period is a key milestone for the company"

Rose Petroleum PLC (LON:ROSE) told investors it is expecting approval in the coming weeks for a seismic exploration programme in Utah’s Paradox Basin.

The exploration company noted a prior investor communication from early May, regarding feedback from consultation with the Bureau of Land Management, and said that it has subsequently been working to amend its plans and environmental assessment to accommodate the points that were made.

A 15-day public consultation period has now commenced, it added.

Rose highlighted that it has received ‘positive assurances’ from the BLM and the company is on-track to get a permit and complete the seismic shoot during the second half of this year.

Matthew Idiens, Rose chief executive, said: “The acceptance of the revised EA by the BLM and the commencement of the public consultation period is a key milestone for the company and we remain on track for the granting of the seismic permit in the coming weeks.

“We are currently in the process of finalising the operational plans for the shoot, which we plan to commence in the third quarter of this year.”
