Amur Minerals gives update on Kun-Manie drill programme

“Getting an early start, we are ahead of schedule and are now verifying our internally derived results to enable us to report mineralised grades and thicknesses," said Robin Young.

Amur Minerals Corporation (LON:AMC) has provided an update on the current drill programme in Russia’s Far East, where it is working to expand the metal deposits of the Kun-Manie project.

Drilling is targeting Kun Manie’s Ikenskoe / Sobolevsky (IKEN) and Kubuk (KUB) deposits, and since beginning the programme in early May the company has so far completed some 5,903 metres of drilling, about 30% of the planned programme.

Robin Young, Amur chief executive, in a statement said: “Getting an early start, we are ahead of schedule and are now verifying our internally derived results to enable us to report mineralised grades and thicknesses.

“As we are drilling two deposits, we plan to successively issue results individually by deposit to provide a clear and coherent presentation of results in what will be an interesting year as we test our largest existing 2.5 kilometres long undrilled target located between these two deposits.”

At IKEN, it has drilled around 2,800 metres in sixteen holes. Six of the holes have been completed to establish the limits of mineralisation for mining purposes, while a further ten have been drilled to support the planned upgrade and expansion of resources.

Meanwhile, at KUB, the company has also drilled sixteen holes for just over 3,000 metres. Seven are infill holes designed to up upgrade resources while the other nine were drilled as a combination of resource expansion and mineral limit determination.

Analysis of the specific findings are ongoing, nonetheless Amur highlighted that the ore host rock types, mineralisation and sulphide content are similar to what was identified by previous drill seasons.

The company added that it anticipates reporting ore grade mineralisation in the near-term, once initial verification analysis is complete. Additionally, it noted that the first shipment of samples to labs in Moscow was made on June 14. Results for nickel, copper, cobalt, platinum and palladium are anticipated to be available in about 6 to 10 weeks.

“We plan for weekly updates with the next update including results from Ikenskoe / Sobolevsky, then Kubuk, then hydrological results followed by a comprehensive summary of the previous results," Young added.
