Silver Mines (ASX:SVL) is continuing to receive further high-grade silver results from drilling at its Bowdens Silver project located near Mudgee in New South Wales.
The drilling results at the Bundarra area extends mineralisation at depth and north along strike, including:
- 315.2 metres at 26 g/t silver, 0.70% zinc, 0.41% lead (63 g/t silver equivalent) from 96 metres; and
- 28 metres at 126 g/t silver, 0.31% zinc, 0.68% lead (159 g/t silver equivalent) from 165 metres.
The drilling provides further evidence to the increasing vertical extent of the Bundarra system with mineralisation extensions up to 300 metres beneath the existing resource.
Furthermore, drilling results continue to confirm the robustness of the higher grade North Main Zone area including:
- 50 metres at 113 g/t silver, 0.63% zinc, 0.83% lead (162 g/t silver equivalent) from 45 metres; and
- 48 metres at 84 g/t silver, 0.58% zinc, 0.88% lead (133 g/t silver equivalent) from 67 metres.
Bowdens is the largest undeveloped silver deposit in Australia, and one of the largest globally, with a resource of 134 million silver ounces.
The current drill program involves infill drilling to convert inferred resources to measured and indicated resource categories as well as testing for potential extensions of the known mineralisation.
The total program has been revised to a total of 125 holes for 22,000 metres in order to allow for a resource update during the third quarter of this calendar year.
