EMED confirms third gold discovery in Slovakia

EMED Mining (AIM: EMED) climbed higher this morning after announcing further positive drilling results from its Slatinske Lazy Prospect in central Slovakia. Slatinske Lazy is located only 7.5 kilometres from EMED’s Biely Vrch gold discovery

EMED Mining (AIM: EMED) climbed higher this morning after announcing further positive drilling results from its Slatinske Lazy Prospect in central Slovakia. Slatinske Lazy is located only 7.5 kilometres from EMED’s Biely Vrch gold discovery.

Five drill holes completed at Slatinske Lazy all intersected gold over the entire length of the 250 metre holes. The best intercepts were 51 metres grading 1.21 grams per tonne gold from 99 metres down hole in hole SLE4 and 121 metres grading 0.53 grams per tonne gold from 33 metres down hole in hole SLE5. EMED said that the mineralisation appeared to stronger to the north towards the Klokoc-Podpolom prospect where drill will occur later this year.

Managing Director, Mr Harry Anagnostaras-Adams, of EMED Mining said:

“Our substantial 2008 exploration program in central Slovakia is progressing well. Approximately 15,000m of diamond drilling is planned for 2008, which will be split between advancing Biely Vrch towards an initial JORC-compliant resource and progressing exploration of other porphyry gold prospects within our large, 100% owned licences.

Exploration of this previously unrecognised porphyry gold district is at a very exciting stage as we identify further prospects for drilling by undertaking geological mapping and geochemical surveys. We aim to drill at least a further three prospects during 2008.”
