E-sports promoter Gfinity (LON:GFIN) will host the final of Microsoft's Forza Racing Championship at the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race event this month.
The ForzaRC season 3 Elite finals will take place on 17 and 18 June 2017 at the Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, France.
It will be the largest racing e-sports event ever hosted at Le Mans with over 100 people expected to take part, while the victor gets to stand on the podium alongside the actual race winner.
Neville Upton, Gfinity’s chief executive, said: "Gfinity's experience of global events makes us the perfect platform for showcasing such a spectacle.
“The Gfinity team are extremely proud to be involved in such a legendary event, where all of the action will be in one place for sports and racing fans alike."
As the official global tournament partner for the Forza Racing Championship, Gfinity will be working alongside Turn 10 Studios, Porsche and Automobile Club de l'Ouest.
Action from the virtual race can be viewed from Le Mans via the official Mixer, Twitch and YouTube livestreams.
Gfinity added the ForzaRC hosting will run alongside its Elite Series esports tournament, where amateur players get the chance to join a professional team.
The Forza Racing Championship is a four week competition, starting with an event at Microsoft’s flagship store in New York.
The destination was not disclosed until now. As well as spot on the Le Mans podium, the winner gets the main chunk of a US$100,000 prize fund.
