Intellectual property specialist Tekcapital PLC (AIM:TEK) has acquired gesture recognition software from the University of Central Florida.
The sophisticated algorithm is able to track and interpret inputs such as handwriting and drawings and can be used on mobile and desktop devices.
It is thought to be faster and more accurate than the current technology as well as being versatile, language independent and compatible with existing recognition systems.

The plan is to out-licence the intellectual property to a device manufacturer or software company.
Tekcapital chief executive Clifford Gross said: "We are excited to have acquired the exclusive rights to this novel software technology aimed at improving the accurate detection of gesture inputs for mobile devices, tablets and desktop computers.”
No financial details were given.
