Skyfii to deploy data analytics platform in Wellington Airport

The new contract signifies a successful entry into the airport vertical.

Skyfii (ASX:SKF) has signed a new contract with New Zealand-based Wellington International Airport to deploy its cloud-based data analytics and marketing platform.

Wellington International Airport is a transport hub for visitors in and out of New Zealand, handling 5.2 million passengers each year.

The initial one-year contract will see the complete deployment of Skyfii’s ‘IO’ platform - IO Connect (data collection), IO Insight (analytics) and IO Engage (marketing).

Additionally, the airport has engaged Skyfii to provide Data Consulting Services (DCS), which will enable the airport to better understand the data collected across its property.

There is a growing shift towards the use of location based analytics and marketing tools in international airports.

The Skyfii platform uses existing wi-fi infrastructure and other sources to allow venues to analyse the behaviour and capture data from those who opt-in to free internet connectivity.

Management teams are realising the added benefits that measuring customer behaviour can bring to the future of airport terminal performance.

This includes optimising amenities to reflect customer usage, providing retail services which meet customer needs and highlighting bottlenecks that may lead to poor customer experiences.

The new contract signifies a successful entry into the airport vertical for Skyfii, reflecting the company's recent focus towards verticals including universities, municipalities, airports and casinos.

Skyfii’s share price increased circa 36% since the start of 2017, last trading at $0.075.
