Alcidion Group shares rise on securing major hospital contract

The company’s solution will provide real time intelligence for clinicians.

Alcidion Group (ASX:ALC) has won a NZ$1.6 million contract with the MidCentral District Health Board in New Zealand to utilise Alcidion’s technology across its public hospital facilities.

The company’s shares were last trading 17% higher intra-day on Thursday, at $0.069.

Alcidion’s Miya platform will provide all the necessary data to manage the flow of patient care, from the reception of the patient through to hospital wards and specialist clinical areas.

Clinicians can access individual patient information on mobile devices at the point of care, on computer workstations across the hospital and on large format digital displays in shared work areas.

A key aspect of Alcidion’s solution is to provide real time intelligence to the MidCentral Hospital Operations Centre, the focal point for supporting efficient allocation of hospital resources.

The mobile bed management component of Alcidion’s solution provides an overview of capacity and demand across the hospital.

The platform will be available across 130 Apple iPads and 75 large format digital displays that will be deployed in every ward and clinical service area.

In April, Alcidion signed a contract to deploy its hospital information system across three public hospitals of Western Health, in the western suburbs of Melbourne.

The contract is for an initial three-year term valued at $1.45 million, with Western Health holding the option to extend the agreement for $450,000 per annum for the subsequent two years.
