Royal Road Minerals now owns 100% of Caza Gold Corp

Caza controls a large land position in the highly prospective but largely undeveloped gold belts of Nicaragua

Precious metals explorer Royal Road Minerals Ltd (CVE:RYR) told the market it has now bought 100% of Caza Gold Corp (CVE:CZY).

In March, the firm held around 90% of the capital, but now it has completed its compulsory acquisition of all of the remaining outstanding shares of Caza.

In January this year, the group made an offer to buy the group in an all-share deal.

It was at 0.16 of a Royal Road share and a total of 134.8mln Caza shares, or 90% of the Caza capital, were deposited on February 27, 2017 - at the expiry time of the initial deposit period.

Caza controls a large land position in the highly prospective but largely undeveloped gold belts of Nicaragua - the properties are the Los Andres district, Piedra Iman, Las Lajas, Cerro Pedernal, El Diamente, Teustepe and Cerro La Vaca.

Two months ago, Royal Roads president and chief executive Dr Tim Coughlin had said: "We are pleased that Caza's shareholders have accepted the offer, and we welcome them as Royal Road Minerals shareholders and as participants in our exciting growth strategy, which includes plans to advance the exploration of Caza's key Nicaraguan properties, to continue our exploration work in the highly prospective province of Nariño in southern Colombia and to advance other initiatives elsewhere throughout Latin America."

Royal Road shares are down 5.88% to $0.08 in Toronto.
