Predictive Discovery hits gold in West Africa

Drilling at the Boundiali project is with U.K. partner Toro Gold.

Predictive Discovery (ASX:PDI) has received assay results from the first five diamond drill holes at its Nyangboue prospect within the Boundiali Project located in Cote D’Ivoire.

Visible gold was observed in quartz veins and assays include 21 metres at 1.7 g/t gold and features gold grades up to 10.0 g/t gold.

Reverse circulation drilling on the southern and eastern gold-in-soil anomalies on the Boundiali permit is now underway.

Paul Roberts, managing director, commented: “Our geological understanding of the Nyangboue mineralised system has been improved by this diamond drill program.

“Based on the drilling so far, there may be some supergene enrichment and broadening of the gold mineralised zones in weathered rock in the top 40-50 metres but good grades also persist to depth in the fresh rock below.”

Drill result details

A 10 hole, 1,658 metre diamond drilling program was completed at Nyangboue during the March quarter.

Drilling was designed to test the central section of the gold mineralised zone encountered in the 2016 drill program.

Highlights include:

- 118.5 metres at 0.5 g/t gold including 21 metres at 1.7 g/t and 4.5 metres at 6.6 g/t gold from 75 metres; and

- 54 metres at 0.7 g/t gold including 4.5 metres at 2.9 g/t gold from 43.5 metres.

Oriented diamond drill core has shown that the main gold mineralised zone coincides with a contact between coarser and finer grained sheared sedimentary rocks.

Also, the mineralised zone appears to strike north-northeast and dip steeply east, near parallel to the shear orientation.

Reverse circulation drilling commenced

A 3,000 metre reverse circulation drill program has now commenced to test the southern and western soil gold in anomalies reported previously.

These are now known as the Nyangboue South and Gbemou anomalies respectively.

Diamond drilling at the Bobosso Project located in Cote D’Ivoire also recently commenced, which is being funded by Canadian partner, Progress Minerals Inc.
