Deltex Medical Group plc (LON:DEMG) has launched a non-invasive High Definition Impedance Cardiography (HD-ICG) module in the UK.
The module is part of the oesophageal Doppler monitoring (ODM) specialist’s CardioQ-ODM+ monitoring platform and provides a continuous indirect measurement of central blood flow.
As a non-invasive system it is ideal for monitoring patients who are awake and in critical care or undergoing surgery.

The product is CE marked, and after its UK launch will be introduced to selected overseas markets in due course.
"The addition of High Definition Impedance Cardiography to our monitoring platform is an exciting development. It gives us an easy to use non-invasive cardiac output monitoring technology which is broadly complementary to our existing ODM technology,” said Ewan Phillips, Deltex’s chief executive.
"Following the 2012 addition of Pulse Pressure Waveform Analysis to CardioQ-ODM+, we are now able to offer our customers all three of the leading advanced haemodynamic monitoring technologies on a single platform. This means clinicians can choose the most appropriate technology for their monitoring requirements across the whole hospital," he added.
Shares in Deltex were trading at 3.79p mid-morning, compared to 3.875p overnight.
