Copper explorer Asiamet Resources Limited (LON:ARS CVE:ARS) is mulling going deeper at its BKM prospect in Kalimantan after it hit more thick mineralisation in the BK044 Zone.
Moderate to high-grade copper mineralisation extended more than 100 metres below the base of the conceptual open pit design, said the junior, though further exploration will be needed along strike (north-south) and laterally to establish the continuity of this deeper domain.
This will determine the potential for extending the open-pit to capture this mineralisation.

Peter Bird, Asiamet's chief executive, said the results from the BK044 Zone were very encouraging with the deeper mineral domain extending well beyond the limits of the conceptual open-pit mine design.
“The potential for a deeper pit and longer mine life will be investigated as part of the ongoing feasibility study,” he added.
Asiamet added that the current infill and expansion drilling program at BKM has now finished with a total 122 holes or 12,482m completed.
This drilling was intended to move inferred resources into higher confidence measured and indicated and “We are very pleased with the results to date," he said.
Shares eased 3% to 5.05p.
