Porta Communications PLC’s (LON:PTCM) executive chairman David Wright is to retire and leave the board of the marketing and public relations group.

John Foley will become the new non-executive chairman, having previously been senior Independent non-exec.

Gene Golembiewski, previously the chief financial officer, is to take on a more commercial executive director role while Rhydian Bankes takes over as CFO and become a director.

Steffan Williams, Porta’s chief executive, said Wright had played a key part in taking the company from a start-up to a significant independent company within the strategic communications advisory market.

David Wright added: “We have built a remarkable business in a very short period of time and I want to thank all my colleagues for their hard work and support.”

Shares rose 14% to 2.99p.
