Premier African to make first concentrate shipment from RHA tungsten mine

The plant has already exceeded the breakeven level of 3,000 mtu per month of wolframite

Premier African Minerals Limited (LON:PREM) expects shortly to make a first shipment of wolframite concentrate from its RHA mine in Zimbabwe.

Wolframite is the source ore for tungsten and the ramp-up of the processing plant is going well said George Roach, chief executive, while the X-ray machine installed to sort the ore is working ahead of expectations.

Tweaks are still being made to the recovery and sorter circuit, but the plant has already exceeded the breakeven level of 3,000 mtu per month of wolframite he said, though not yet on a sustained basis.

“Ongoing optimisation, refinement and mining development is expected to result in continuous sustained operation at profitable levels in the near future. Shipments of concentrates produced from the upgraded plant will commence in the beginning of this month."

Meanwhile, drilling is continuing at the Zulu lithium and tantalum project to increase the resource, while a survey will be undertaken to identify hidden mineralisation in areas where it isn't outcropping.
