Kopane Diamond Developments (AIM: KDD) announced that it made further progress on its Definitive Feasibility Study for the Main Pipe in Lesotho. Kopane is already producing diamonds from the smaller satellite pipe, but is in the throes of assessing the feasibility of developing the much larger Main Pipe.

A four hole core drilling program, comprising of 1,750 metres which is expected to upgrade and increase the current 11.5 million carat inferred resource, started on May 15.

An additional 27 hole large diameter drilling program is also underway with the first six holes now completed. Some 934 metres of drilling is complete and 334 tonnes of kimberlite have been recovered. The large diameter drill program is drilling to depths of 250 metres and is designed to support the goals of the core drilling and allow for a detailed analysis of the diamonds in the pipe.

Finally, Kopane confirmed that a 5 tonne per hour dense media separation pilot plant has also arrived, and is expected to being processing bulk samples before the end of June.
