Rentokil Initial expects its 2017 performance to be in line with expectations, as first-quarter revenues rise

Pest control to hygiene and property care firm Rentokil Initial PLC (LON:RTO) has said it expects its 2017 performance to be in line with expectations, as it reported a rise in first-quarter revenues.

In a trading update, the FTSE 100-listed firm said its first quarter revenue was £580mln, up 9.2% at constant currency rates, and 22.9% at actual rates.

It added that ongoing revenue rose by 10% at constant currencies, with 3.1% of that growth organic, and 6.9% from acquisitions.

The group highlighted continuing strong performances in Asia, Pacific, Latin America, the UK and its largest market, North America.

It said Europe delivered improved ongoing revenue growth in the first-quarter, although revenues in France were broadly flat year-on-year.

Rentokil’s chief executive, Andy Ransom said "Pest Control has performed well across the regions and we remain encouraged by the progress we are continuing to deliver in Hygiene.”

He added: “We are confident that the company will deliver a performance in line with expectations for 2017."
