Lebanese restaurant chain Comptoir Group plc (LON:COM) was under the weather as it warned trading had turned down since January and opening plans were being scaled back.
UK consumers were being cautious it said, though March has been better than January and February, traditionally the quietest months. April should improve again, it added.
Even so, only four new restaurants are now planned for 2018, which will impact the financial performance unless conditions turn up again. In that case Comptoir may look at the numbers again.
The group is currently trading from 23 restaurants with three more scheduled for 2017.
Sales in 2016 rose 21% to £21.5mln with adjusted pre-tax profits flat at £1.6mln.
Shares fell 14% to 44p.
