Alcidion Group wins hospital informatics contract with Western Health

The contract period is up to 5 years, valued at $2.35 million.

Patient data can be accessed using iPads

Alcidion Group (ASX:ALC) has signed a contract to deploy its hospital information system across three public hospitals of Western Health, in the western suburbs of Melbourne.

The Alcidion platform will be installed at the Footscray, Williamstown and Sunshine hospitals.

The contract is for an initial three-year term valued at $1.45 million, with Western Health holding the option to extend the agreement for $450,000 per annum for the subsequent two years.

Alcidion’s Miya platform provides all the necessary data to manage patient care, from the reception of the patient, at hospital wards and specialist clinical areas, through to discharge.

Clinicians can access individual patient information on mobile devices at the point of care and on computer workstations distributed across the hospital.

Alcidion’s platform includes multiple iPads deployed in wards and clinical service areas, thus saving clinicians and care team members valuable time in their patient care interactions.

This data access includes clinical information such as pathology and radiology results as well as access to clinical documentation.

Furthermore, the platform identifies emerging clinical risk and highlights “at risk” patients to the clinicians.

Last week, Alcidion and FUJIFILM completed the delivery of intelligent Cardiovascular Information System (iCVIS) to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in Queensland, Australia.

iCVIS was developed by Alcidion for FUJIFILM and is built on Alcidion’s Miya platform to address the clinical risk, workflow and logistical issues that are encountered in cardiology departments.

Alcidion’s share price increased 20% over the past month, last trading at $0.078.
