Vital Metals gold drilling continues to provide results

With drilling ongoing, news flow is expected to continue.

Vital Metals (ASX:VML) has received assays for 421 auger drill holes from its 100%-owned Kollo Gold Project in Burkina Faso, West Africa.

To date, a total of 2,091 auger holes have been drilled for 8,177 metres of which 1,400 holes have been sampled and assayed.

Results show a potential 3 kilometre corridor of gold mineralisation directly south of the Kollo gold project at the Kollo SW target area.

Gold grades of up to 0.42 g/t were recorded in a 2.4 kilometre corridor at the Tangassogo prospect and gold mineralisation of up to 0.2 g/t over a 1 kilometre corridor was also found.

Auger results are similar in tenor to those at the Kollo South discovery.

A program of infill auger drilling has been planned to test these prospects with additional auger rigs being mobilised to the field.

An aggressive program of regional auger drill testing will also continue given the success of the limited program to date.

Mark Strizek, managing director, commented:

“The high grades seen in the auger results are a solid vindication of the company’s exploration model.

“The targets immediately south of the Kollo gold project were inferred from our exploration model as there is no outcrop in the area as it was covered with transported cover at some time.

“The auger drilling allows us to push through this and effectively sample the bedrock.

“Following the recent capital raising we have substantially expanded the auger drilling campaign which will allow us to test these prospective corridors and deliver a series of drill ready targets.”

Burkina Faso ground

Vital’s 100% owned 400 square kilometre Doulnia Gold Project is located in southern Burkina Faso.

It comprises the Doulnia, Kampala and Zeko exploration permits, which host a number of prospects, targets and smaller projects.

The most advanced target is the Kollo Gold Project, where a 60 hole reverse circulation program was recently completed.

The permits being drilled are located on the prospective Markoye Fault Corridor which also hosts West African Resources’ (ASX:WAF) high grade 2.2 million ounce Sanbrado Gold Project.
