PowerHouse Energy Group PLC (LON:PHE) revealed its G3-UHt ultra-high temperature gasification demonstration unit has arrived in the north-west of England.
The unit cleared UK customs after a seven week journey from Brisbane, Australia, and has been delivered to its initial recommissioning site near Manchester.
Keith Allaun, executive chairman of PowerHouse, described the occasion as “momentous”, and the market seemed to share his view, pushing the share price up 7% to 0.99p.
PowerHouse said work would immediately start on the recommissioning of what is the cornerstone of the company's Distributed Modular Gasification system.
Once recommissioned, the unit will be delivered to the Thornton Science Park of the University of Chester, where it will serve as a demonstration unit.
The company has appointed Engsolve to assist in the recommissioning process and said the firm would be one of its key partners as it takes the unit through the development cycle to full commercialisation.
“They [Engsolve] have presented a capable understanding of the demands of our G3-UHt unit and the time demands of the project,” declared David Ryan, executive director of Programme Development at PowerHouse.

Having spent nearly half a decade experimenting, reviewing, and revising our technology and engineering philosophy, we have designed, from first principals, the G3-UHt Unit.
“We believe Distributed Modular Gasification will allow access to an economical, and environmentally sound, solution to land-fill diversion, low-cost distributed electrical generation, and distributed hydrogen production.”
