Metals Ex says heavy rain affecting Runruno ramp-up

Progress has been slower expected due to 'incessant rainfall and other factors'

Heavy rain has hampered Metals Exploration Plc (LON:MTL) plans to get its Runruno gold mine in the Philippines up to full speed.

Currently the mine is in "test running and debugging" phase and has exported gold dore produced during the testing, but progress has been slower expected due to incessant rainfall and other factors that have restricted the effective mining of waste materials.

This has in turn adversely impacted the grade and sulphur content of ore available for processing, said Metal Ex, though mechanically both the mining fleet and the processing plant have operated well the company said.
