Thor Mining PLC (LON:THR) has hit 51 metres of mineralisation in the second of two holes drilled at the Desert Scheelite tungsten deposit in Nevada.
Desert Scheelite is part of the company’s wider Pilot Mountain project which will be the subject of increasing attention now that Thor has received the final tranche of funds from the sale of the Spring Hill gold asset.
The 51 metre intercept included nine metres of visible sulphide 25 metres to the east of a previously drilled hole which intercepted 13.9 metres of 0.89% tungsten trioxide (WO3), as well as copper and zinc.
A third, unplanned, hole will now be drilled to follow up on the 51 metre intercept.
"The objective of testing for potential extension of high grade mineralisation at the eastern end of the Desert Scheelite resource appears to have achieved that aim,” said chief executive Mick Billing.
"While the initial planning for this program at Desert Scheelite included plans for only two holes, we are sufficiently encouraged by this result to immediately conduct a third drill hole to test for further extensions".
