EnQuest PLC (LON:ENQ) said it is on track to deliver first oil from the Kraken development in the second quarter following the arrival onsite of the floating production storage and offloading vessel on Monday.

The hook-up of the buoy mooring system was completed two days later and commissioning work will continue above water.

At the same time subsea infrastructure is being completed ahead of the deadline.

One of the largest current developments in the North Sea, Kraken will ramp up to a plateau rate of 50,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Enquest owns just over 70% of the heavy oil field, with Cairn Energy holding the minority.
