Demand for Botox jabs and eye drug Restasis kept Allergan PLC’s (NYSE:AGN) sales rising in its latest quarter.
After a disappointing previous three months, the Dublin-based pharma beat expectations this time.
Revenue rose 7% to US$3.86bn in the quarter to December, while underlying earnings were US$3.90 compared to predictions beforehand of about US$3.75.
Allergan also predicted a decent outturn for 2017, with strong sales growth in constipation treatment Linzees, which rose 34% in the final quarter, set to continue.
Predicted group revenues of between US$15.5-8bn in 2017 would be 8% growth at the bottom end with earnings of between US$15.8—US$16.3 a 17% improvement at the bottom end.
Shares rose 2.5% to US$238.28.
