Savannah Resources highlights positive metallurgy at Mahab 4

Metallurgical work at Mahab 4 has yielded promising results

Metallurgical testwork at the Mahab 4 copper deposit in Oman owned by Savannah Resources Plc (LON:SAV) has demonstrated that the company will be able to produce a saleable concentrate.

The tests also showed the potential for additional credits from gold, silver and zinc.

What’s more, the ore at Mahab 4 is soft, meaning that overall processing costs ought to be kept down.

“The results from this work points towards a relatively simple float process and a clean and desirable copper concentrate, which is likely to be keenly sought after by off-takers and smelters,” said chief executive David Archer.

“Further test work is continuing and we look forward to updating shareholders on these developments."

Mahab 4 currently boasts an inferred and indicated resource of 1.51 mln tonnes at 2.1% copper.
