Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) borrowed $17bn in seven tranches of corporate debt this week, nearly has much as it did last summer when it acquired social media platform LinkedIn.
Microsoft intends to use the net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes, which may include, among other things, funding for working capital, capital expenditures, repurchases of its capital stock, acquisitions, and repayment of its existing debt.
The offerings are expected to close on February 6, 2017.
