Ascent Resources Plc (LON:AST) has told investors that the flow test results from the Pg-10 well have exceeded management's expectations.
The well achieved a maximum stabilised flow rate of 8.8mln cubic feet of gas per day, the company said.
At that level the gas flow is in line with a short test conducted back in 2011 and Ascent says it is significantly above the minimum commitments required under its gas sales agreement.
"We are extremely pleased with the results from the Pg-10 test and we look forward to bringing gas to market in the near future,” said Colin Hutchinson, Ascent chief executive.
The company added that a series of well tests conducted in recent days have significantly increased its understanding of the well and the gas reservoirs.
The test programme altogether lasted 56 hours, with the well ‘open’ for a total of 37 hours, and Ascent says a total of 10.43mln cubic feet of gas was produced, along with 2,930 litres of gas condensate and 28,250 litres of water.
