Proactive news highlights: featuring Condor Gold, Genedrive, Porta Comms and more…

Condor Gold reports drilling results from La India; Genedrive making "good progress" in realising potential of breakthrough device; Porta settles Grand Retro debt; and more…

Condor Gold PLC (LON:CNR) has moved a step nearer proving its La India acreage in Nicaragua is part of a sizeable mining district with the results from drilling one of the satellite deposits.

A scout drilling programme at Cacao indicated a significant dilation vein between La India and another deposit at Andrea Corridors and also that the prospect is the top of an epithermal gold system.

Intersections from the drill holes included 7.85 m at 3.75 g/t gold, 7.85 m at 2.95 g/t gold and 17.1 m at 1.74 g/t gold in three, with the Cacao vein open along strike and at depth.

Elsewhere, Genedrive PLC (LON:GDR), the molecular diagnostics company, said revenues grew by 40% year-on-year in the six months to December 31.

Of that, £1.2mln was diagnostic-related income (in other words sales of its handheld Gendrive system). That compares with a figure of £500,000 in the same period a year ago.

Following July’s successful share placing, the company is in a strong financial position with net cash of £5.7mln.

In other news, Porta Communications PLC (LON:PTCM) told investors it had agreed to settle a debt of £530,247 due to Retro Grand Ltd by issuing shares.

Retro loaned the money (£500,000) to the marketing group on July 21 last year for three months, at an annual interest rate of 12%, with the interest payable in full at the end of the loan term.

Redx Pharma PLC (LON:REDX) has confirmed the upcoming clinical trial of its Porcupine inhibitor, RXC004, will assess the drug in combination with a checkpoint inhibitor as well as deploying it as a single treatment to tackle cancer.

Porcupine inhibitors are a new and potentially breakthrough method of fighting the killer disease.

And finally, Galantas Gold Corp (LON:GAL, CVE:GAL) says it’s set to raise around C$2.45mln (£1.48mln) in a placing, which will finance the start of development of an underground mine at Omagh in Northern Ireland.

It has received subscriptions to the value of that amount, having said last week it would bring in up to C$2.54mln through a placing of shares at C$0.0725 - or 4.5p a share.
