Sunrise Resources Plc (LON:SRES) is launching a new study to establish a roadmap to production at the CS ‘Pozz’ project in Nevada.
The company seeks to establish production of the natural pozzolans – siliceous sedimentary rocks – to take advantage of increased demand for the material by the cement industry (when added to the mix ‘pozz’ can form part of a "greenhouse gas friendly" alternative to Portland cement).
In December, Sunrise received positive results from testing of the CS property’s material and it is now pushing ahead with the project.
It has retained consultant Magmatics Inc to assist the development, and a concept study has been commissioned. This study will establish parameters and timeline for the commercial production of natural pozzolan from the CS Project.
Sunrise anticipates the study will be ready by the end of the first quarter, ahead of work programmes during the first half.
Patrick Cheetham, Sunrise chief executive, said: “We are delighted to have retained Magmatics Inc and its principal, Joseph Thomas, who has over 20 years' experience in natural pozzolan and is well placed to assist in the evaluation and development of this project.”
“The CS Pozz Project is a valuable addition to our industrial minerals portfolio which includes the large County Line Diatomite Project currently leased to EP Minerals, LLC, where we look forward to the possibility of royalty cash flow in June this year, and the recently acquired Ridge (high-grade) limestone project."
