MySQUAR’s busy run continues with new gaming platform launch

The soft launch of Lucky Wingabar follows on from several other app and game releases over the past few weeks

MySQUAR Limited’s (LON:MYSQ) busy run of product releases continued on Monday after the Myanmar-focused social media and entertainment group soft launched its new gaming platform, Lucky Wingabar.

The platform will initially have five games casual games included when users download the app, with more games added periodically.

An official launch is expected within three weeks.

“The release of the platform helps MySQUAR solidify its leading position in the mobile-based value added services in Myanmar,” said chief executive Eric Schaer.

“The platform concept has been proven to have considerable competitive advantages in user acquisition and retention and marketing expense savings.

“We expect the platform and its further developments to contribute significant monetisation results to the Company in financial year 2017 and thereafter.”

Lucky Wingabar follows closely on the heels of MySQUAR’s ChakraNinja video game app and its internet-based calling app, CallHome.

It will run on the ‘freemium’ model, which means the app and the games on it are free to download and play initially but will look to make money through in-app purchases.

The casual gaming market in Myanmar is estimated to have millions of players, with MySQUAR expecting revenue generated from its new platform to be “very significant” as a result.

Shares were up 7%, or 0.12p, to 2p.
