Greatland Gold PLC (LON:GGP) has identified two large zones of gold mineralisation from shallow drilling at the Ernest Giles project in Western Australia.
The Western Zone is 6km in length and 1.5km in width while the Eastern zone is 2km by 1.5km.
Several of the zones were up to 60 metres thick and reasonably shallow with one 119m below the surface.
The BAM East gold prospect at the Junior Lake property in Ontario continues to impress Landore Resources PLC (LON:LND).
The company released a progress report on its now completed autumn drilling campaign at the prospect on Thursday, revealing that results continue to report wide zones of gold mineralisation.
The team has found high grade intersections with drill-hole 0416-555 reporting 18.27 metres (m) at 3.69 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, including 2.00m at 21.49 g/t gold, and drill-hole 0416-557 reporting 30.00m at 2.27 g/t gold including 5.00m at 4.17 g/t.
Amur Minerals Corporation (LON:AMC) is eyeing significantly higher revenues from its Kun-Manie project in Russia after the latest metallurgical work reported improved metal recoveries.
Work carried out by Gipronickel Institute's on a decent sized ore sample from the Maly Kurumkon/Flangovy deposit at Kun-Manie indicated nickel revenues may be 10% higher than anticipated and copper income 6% better.
Caledonia Mining Corporation Plc (LON:CMCL) has enjoyed a record quarter for gold production from the Blanket mine in Zimbabwe.
Some 13,591 ounces of gold were produced in the last three months, an 18% increase on a year ago and 1% up quarter on quarter.

The South Africa-focused miner revealed reef mined from the open pit in the final three months of 2016 Totalled 1,229.9 kt (thousands of tonnes), down 1.1% on the preceding quarter.
The production level remained well above the combined plant processing capacity of 400 kt per month. Furthermore, reef mined continues to exceed the targeted run rate of 4.8mln tonnes per annum on an annualised basis.

The shares will be issued at around 4p through a bookbuilding exercise by Panmure Gordon with a warrant attached that can be exercised at 1p.
Shares in Edenville Energy PLC (LON:EDL) surged higher after it said it has started trial mining at the Rukwa Coal Project in Tanzania after it has received “significant formal interest” from several companies for long-term coal supply.
Edenville said as a result of the interest, seen over the past several months, trial shipments of mine coal have been transported to customers in order to determine appropriate logistical, quality and quantity parameters, with commercial rates being paid for the coal.
Natural resources investor Metal Tiger PLC (LON:MTR) is set to spin out its Thai assets after confirming plans to float its silver, lead and zinc-focused Thai joint venture on AIM.
The float – which Metal said is the “first IPO of a Thai operation on the London Stock Exchange” – is slated for the second quarter of this year.
Geoff McIntyre has been bought in to head up the new company, which is looking to raise between £3mln and £4mln from the listing, including any pre-float funding.
