OptiBiotix Health plc (LON:OPTI) has received another boost from the wider health industry after it had two abstracts accepted for presentation at a major European conference.
The two abstracts relate to work undertaken by OptiBiotix on its cholesterol lowering probiotic which will be presented at ProBiota 2017 in Berlin at the start of next month.
The conference is known as key meeting for the science community and business leaders who want to put the science into new products, OptiBiotix said.
The first piece of the group’s research to be discussed at the event will cover the results of the clinical study and will be presented as a poster and oral presentation.
The second abstract will also be presented as a poster and covers the work on species specific microbiome modulators used by OptiBiotix to enhance the cholesterol-reducing effect of its LP-LDL strain.
“These publications, at a major conference, will support the launch of a range of cardiovascular products to reduce LDL cholesterol, blood pressure and cardiovascular risk, planned for the spring of 2017,” said chief executive Stephen O’Hara.
“The publications will provide the scientific evidence for sales and marketing literature, which will help with product differentiation and higher margins.”
