Gulf Keystone Petroleum signs up new chief operating officer

CEO Jón Ferrier said Stuart Catterall "is a great addition to the team and we look forward to his contribution as we continue to increase production from the Shaikan field."

Gulf Keystone Petroleum Ltd (LON:GKP) has announced the hiring of Stuart Catterall as its new chief operating officer.

Catterall has proven expertise in successfully developing oil fields and leading operations in remote, onshore international locations such as the Middle East and North Africa, the company highlighted.

He will be responsible for Gulf Keystone’s operational and technical activities, and will direct the group’s current work programme.

"We are very pleased to welcome Stuart to Gulf Keystone,” said chief executive Jón Ferrier.

“He brings a wealth of operational experience from three decades in the industry, including in senior leadership positions within a number of highly regarded international companies.

“Stuart is a great addition to the team and we look forward to his contribution as we continue to increase production from the Shaikan field."

Catterall has held a number of senior leadership and technical roles with Amerada Hess, BHP Billiton, Celtique Energy, as well as working as consultant to companies such as PA Resources, Enquest and Petroceltic.
