Life sciences industry veteran MaryBeth Thompson has been appointed as chief operating officer of Instem Plc (LON:INS), the clinical trials software services provider.
Thompson will report to chief executive officer Phil Reason, but will not sit on the board.
She has more than 18 years of experience in the life sciences industry, with a primary focus in regulatory affairs and operations with a demonstrable track record as a leader and builder of outsourcing services businesses, Instem said.
Thompson previously worked at PAREXEL International, the multi-national life sciences consulting firm, where she established and expanded the regulatory outsourcing services practice from a US$1 million revenue business with 30 employees to an international organisation across the US, Europe and India with more than US$30 million of revenues and 300 employees.
“We are delighted to have appointed someone of MaryBeth's calibre and experience to Instem,” said Reason.
“MaryBeth has a strong track record in building life sciences businesses and we look forward to the benefits she will bring as we embark upon the company's next phase of growth," the CEO added.
