Gfinity Plc (LON:GFIN) told investors it has been selected by Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ: ATVI) to organise and run high profile eSports events in London.
Activision has contracted Gfinity for two events, to take place in 2017, which will be part of the Call of Duty World League which is being presented by Sony Playstation.
"We are proud to be chosen again by Activision Blizzard to host a series of Call of Duty tournaments,” said Neville Upton, Gfinity chief executive.
“This is the fourth year in a row that we have partnered with Activision Blizzard to deliver a series of very popular eSports events.
“Our team will continue to innovate and deliver world class eSports events which are enjoyed by fans globally and deliver value for our partners."
The first Call of Duty World League tournament hosted by Gfinity will take place between January 28-29 and it will have a US$25,000 prize pool.
The second event is scheduled for the summer and the tournament details have yet to be confirmed.
