Online retail giant Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) bragged about its ‘Fulfillment by Amazon’ (FBA) service on Wednesday, revealing a record number of deliveries worldwide.
The company said it shipped more than 2bn items for sellers worldwide in 2016.
Active sellers using the FBA service increased more than 70% in 2016 from the year before.
Outside of the US, the number of units shipped grew more than 80% year-on-year.
The company, possibly keen to buff up a reputation damaged by its controversial tax avoidance strategies, said it estimates that sellers using the FBA service have created more than 600,000 new jobs outside of Amazon.
