Capricorn Metals drills high-grade gold beneath Bibra Gold Deposit

Capricorn Metals (ASX:CMM) has confirmed the presence of high-grade gold mineralisation from drilling the footwall stratigraphy immediately beneath the 914,000 ounces gold Bibra Gold Deposit.

The Bibra Gold Deposit is situated within Capricorn’s 100%-owned Karlawinda Gold Project in the Pilbara, Western Australia.

The results from this limited, wide-spaced drilling are:

- 2 metres at 9.3 g/t gold from 218 metres; and

- 2 metres at 4 g/t gold from 162 metres.

Karlawinda is an advanced gold project which includes the Bibra deposit and numerous outstanding exploration targets including the Francopan prospect.

The June 2016 inferred resource for Bibra reported 25.5 million tonnes at 1.1 g/t gold for 914,000 ounces of contained gold.

Together with the other recent “near-mine” discoveries such as Easky, Portrush, Tramore and Southern Corridor, the newly discovered footwall structure shows that Bibra is continuing to emerge as a large stacked gold lode system.

The latest results continue to confirm the potential for the Karlawinda Project to host significant zones of high-grade gold mineralization hosted in multiple, stacked, flat-lying structures.

The Bibra scoping study was completed in July 2016, which envisages an open pit development with a 3 million tonne per year CIL (carbon-in-leach) process plant.

Capricorn’s share price has increased by about 68% since the start of 2016, last trading at $0.094.

The company is well funded with $6.8 million in cash as at 30 September 2016.
