Bezant Resources shares up on Colombian sample news

Its partner Exumax SAS is now processing large-scale exploration samples of alluvial material

Shares in Bezant Resources plc (LON:BZT) lifted over 10% as it revealed initial gold and platinum had been recovered from the exploration processing plant at the FKJ 083 licence area in Colombia.

Its partner Exumax SAS is now processing large-scale exploration samples of alluvial material through the onsite exploration laboratory.

So far, 22 test pits have been excavated at the FKJ-083 licence area to depths of between 4 and 12 metres, from which 95 individual samples have been extracted.

Bezant holds options on around 2,600 hectares at the Choco platinum and gold plateau in Colombia and aims to create a low-cost, at surface, gold and platinum production portfolio.

Following this exploration phase and final assay results from the laboratory, assuming these are successful, the group will begin surface, dry mining production development on Licence FKJ-083 in the first half of 2017.

Shares gained 10.76% to 1.75p.
