Hotel Chocolat's rent record boosts Capital & Counties

Tissue Regenix and BOS GLOBAL both added to their recent gains

Hotel Chocolat (LON:HOTC) is going to have sell a lot of confectionery to make its new outlet in Covent Garden pay.

Landlord Capital and Counties Properties PLC (LON:CAPC) revealed today the chocolatier is stumping up an eye-watering £650 per sq ft for a new lease in the Garden’s flagship Market building.

"It sets a new Zone A rental level” said Capco, whose shares rose by 7.5% to 284p, but it may not be for long.

A record 84 leases have been signed this year so far and business in the heart of London’s West End is flourishing said CapCo.

Miner ASA Resource Group PLC (LON:ASA) shot up by a quarter to 2.24p as subsidiary Bindura Nickel bounced back into profit.

BNC, which is almost 75%-owned by ASA, made a net interim profit of US$1.18mln against a loss of US$3.4mln.

Sales also picked up to US$22.5mln from US$20.6mln.

A big increase in the amount of nickel sold offset a 19% drop in the price of its concentrate.

12.30pm...Tissue Regenix shares rise on more good data

The Tissue Regenix Group PLC (LON:TRX) share price continued its recent rally on Monday after the regenerative medical devices company revealed more positive news about its knee repair treatment.

Tissue told investors has signed the first European distribution agreements for OrthoPure XT as the knee repair treatment continues to return positive data from patients.

Early clinical data put forward to support the CE mark application for OrthoPure XT has shown the “clinical relevance” of the product, with patients displaying “a statistically significant improvement” in recovery compared to the current gold standard.

“We are extremely encouraged by the initial results returned from the study,” said TRX Orthopaedics’ commercial director Peter Hamer.

“Having entered our first distributor agreements, which highlight the demand and market opportunity for OrthoPure XT, we remain on track for launch of OrthoPure XT by the end of the first half of 2017.”

The CE mark approval also remains on schedule for the first half of 2017, Tissue added.

Shares in BOS GLOBAL HOLDINGS (LON:BOS) also continued their recent rise after the productivity solutions provider received an international patent for its BOS 360 Work Patterns platform at the end of last week.

Lavendon Group plc (LON:LVD) saw its share price rise again on Monday after a second company announced it would be making a move to acquire the powered access equipment rental firm.

Private firm Loxam released a statement this morning telling the markets that it was in preliminary takeover talks with Lavendon about a possible cash offer.

Today’s news comes only a week after Belgian firm TVH launched a final £348mln ‘take-it-or-leave-it’ bid.

The materials handling business had originally approached Lavendon back in 2010 about a possible bid and renewed its interest back in September of this year.

After having a couple of initial offers turned down by the Lavendon board, TVH went public with an offer of 205p a share to give shareholders the “opportunity to make their own decision”.

Investors are obviously expecting and hoping for a bidding war, especially after TVH said last week that it would consider upping its offer should another party come along, despite already making a “final” bid.

If somewhat annoying for the company itself, shareholders have revelled in the interest and speculation, with the stock soaring by more than 70% over the past few weeks.

It was up again this morning by almost 7% to trade at 217p, well above the 205p offer it received from TVH last week.

Elsewhere, it wasn’t the best of Mondays for Trakm8 Holdings PLC (LON:TRAK) after the telematics and data provider saw half-year operating profits plummet on the back of increased investment into the business.
