UK-based publishing group, Future Plc (LON:FUTR) has appointed former ITN Chief Exec Mark Wood to head-up its UK business. The special interest media group said that the newly appointed UK CEO is “one of the most experienced and talented leaders of content-focused companies”.

“Mark's outstanding track record in the media bridges both the commercial and the editorial and he has a wealth of experience: in broadcast, print and online,” Future Chief Executive Stevie Spring commented.

Mark Wood has been a member of Future’s board, as a non-exec, since 2009.

Before joining ITN as Chief Executive in 2003, Wood was Editor-in-Chief at Reuters where he was responsible for the news and television businesses, as well as for Reuters’ strategic media alliances and investments.

Future publish a broad range of special interest magazines such as Total Film, Official Xbox Magazine, Fast Car, T3 and Guitar World, as well as operating websites.
